Five of family end life



Five of a family, including three girls and a 70-year-old woman, committed suicide by consuming poison in Bhongir town. The deceased were identified as Ankoju Ramesh,42, his mother, Padma,70, and his three daughters Swaroopa,8, Kaveri,5, and Nandini,3. Head of the family, Ramesh, whose wife died. one and a half years ago, had been suffering from a chronic disease while his mother also had age-related health problems. Depressed  over the future of  his three daughters, Ramesh and his mother allegedly poisoned the three children before consuming the same.

Ramesh's family, a nomadic tribe that made jewellery with semi-precious metals, had migrated to Telangana from Karnataka 30 years ago. They has settled in Bhongir where they were living in a hut near government junior college. On Friday evening, Ramesh along with his mother and children had left the house  at 6pm informing his neighbours that they were going to his relative's place. They were found dead on Saturday morning near Railway track by locals. The bodies were shifted to the Area Hospital. A case was registered.
